With the holiday season right around the corner, both merchants and consumers need to make sure they’re prepared for a new wave of cyber attacks.


Robert Capps, VP at NuData Security, in his latest article explores how cybercriminals are using malicious URLs in emails – to steal customer data. Because consumers are now more aware of online phishing scams, cybercriminals are getting sneaky and shifting their attack techniques by using more URLs that take advantage of the lack of clear trust indicators in mobile shopping and lead consumers to malicious sites.

“As mobile shopping adoption continues its upward trend, we’ll see more mobile purchases today than on a desktop device, and we’ll see more cyber attacks against users of mobile devices as they become a popular target for cybercriminals.”
