Ryan Wilk, VP at NuData, comments on a report issued yesterday by SC Magazine disclosing that there has been a breach impacting at least 9 municipalities spanning California, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Florida. With little in terms of security funding, and a critical vulnerability discovered, there was likely very easy access for fraudsters into the payment system, entitled Superion’s Click2Gov.
Vulnerabilities in software are a hidden trap door that is hard to detect until it has been exploited.
