CBR: E-Commerce Websites Pwned – 1.4 Million Customers Exposed

July 31, 2018 — Fashion Nexus, the website creator for many common retail fashion sites, has reportedly been breached.

Ryan Wilk, VP at NuData, comments on a report issued yesterday by Computer Business Review, disclosing that the breach has impacted more than 1 million consumers, but many of the companies impacted have remained silent. This is due to their presumed lack of involvement with the breach. No credit card information was released, but personally identifiable information, such as email addresses, names, and phone numbers were breached.

Although payment data was not exposed, the personally identifiable information accessed can easily fuel synthetic identity fraud and identity theft.
