SC Magazine: HR firm ComplyRight breached compromising PII

July 20, 2018 — The Human Resources management company held massive amounts of information on its users.

Ryan Wilk, VP at NuData, comments on a report issued yesterday by SC Magazine, disclosing that the cloud-based company is responsible for the breach of names, email addresses, passwords, social security numbers, and possibly more from its thousands of clients. The company touted best-in-class security, but still suffered when an attacker used unclear methods to gain access to their records.

The breach underscores once again, for merchants and financial institutions, that mere reliance on passwords and usernames is insufficient to protect their organisation and their customers from online fraud.
