Ryan Wilk, VP at NuData, comments on a report issued today by The Royal Bank of Scotland explaining how cyber criminals are targeting smaller companies, and penalties for data breaches are getting higher, so it’s paramount for SMEs to create strong password security. The article subsequently provides five ways to make your passwords stronger to protect your business.

The problem comes when a user writes his or her passwords down on a sticky note or saves them on their desktop. If a password isn’t compromised, and the correct user has it memorised, that may be more secure than keeping passwords written down. The best practice is to use a password manager to keep track of the different passwords and also generate random ones.
