Infosecurity Magazine: Exobot Android Malware Targets Banking Apps

July 27, 2018 — The source code for the banking Trojan has been leaked online, allowing further customization for fraudsters.

Ryan Wilk, VP at NuData, comments on a report issued yesterday by Infosecurity Magazine, disclosing that the amount of fraudulent Android applications is expected to increase over the next few months, as bad actors adopt the malware. This is dangerous, since it will lead to stolen accounts, as well as banking information.

Personally identifiable information extracted from Exobot-infected devices will quickly find its way to the dark web, where it can be used against the account holder’s account, as well as other online accounts.
